Are you in charge of environmental compliance? Are you wondering how to comply with regulation on methane emissions reduction in the energy sector?
Let us help you make a plan, build the capabilities within the company and perform your methane emission measurements now!
EU Methane Regulation Compliancy
The regulation entered into force on August 4, 2024 and introduces new requirements for the oil, gas, and coal sectors to measure, report, and verify methane emissions, as well as putting in place mitigation measures to avoid such emissions. This includes detecting and repairing methane leaks and limiting venting and flaring. It also puts forward global monitoring tools to ensure transparency on methane emissions from imports of oil, gas, and coal into the EU.
Let us help you make a plan, build the capabilities within the company and perform your methane emission measurements now!
We help you ensure compliance with the new EU Methane Regulation while respecting deadlines and bearing costs in mind. Our experts are ready to support you in training, consulting, measurement or other compliancy questions you may have, send us a message.

OGMP Advisory and Implementation
The Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0 has set ambitious methane reduction targets for its voluntary members.
Aellia supports OGMP members globally in their journey to achieve the Gold Standard along with the different aspects and steps needed.
We are a the only ISO laboratory accredited partner for methane emission measurement from source (level 4) to site level (level 5), reporting, and verification that results in the OGMP Gold Standard.
We provide OGMP 2.0 services and advisory such as:
- Training and capacity building for methane management
- OGMP roadmap and guidance towards the Gold Standard pathway;
- OGMP gap analysis;
- Creation of inventory and database;
- Conducting the methane emission measurements at L4 and L5 with laboratory accredited results;
- Reconciliation and reporting;
- Recommendations on the best methane measurement and abatement technologies.

Regulatory Advisory
It is crucial to stay up-to-date on new or updated local and international environmental regulations, standards, and protocols. Our Innovation & Advisory team is closely involved with policymakers and regulatory bodies to provide you with correct and the most recent information.
Scope determinations, exclusions, measuring technologies, measuring frequencies and quality assurance requirements are part of our daily work methodology. Apart from these aspects, we also have an excellent understanding of BAT and BREFs.

Environmental program development
Reach your environmental targets
We develop multi-year environmental programs to help you comply with (upcoming) regulations and sustainably reduce emissions year after year.
Whether we propose robust methodologies or risk-based inspection approaches, we only advise BAT (Best Available Techniques).
LDAR programs
We have been executing LDAR surveys worldwide for over 30 years. Capture and reduce fugitive or unintended emissions to meet regulatory requirements. We support you from defining the scope of work to delivering compliant LDAR reports.
Methane Management
Our experts assess your current emission situation and identify possible gaps. We create customized multi-year OGMP roadmaps towards the Gold Standard, This also applies to the EU Methane Regulation, which OGMP builds upon. Also measurements required by MiQ are available in our service offering.
Complying with environmental legislation
We have experience in measuring many air borne emissions such as odorous compounds, ammonia, hydrogen, benzene etc. Please let contact us to ask for more references.
Pilot projects
We run pilot projects together with clients to thoroughly test new technologies to measure and quantify emissions.
